Welcome to "Introduction to Nanotechnology + Lab" course....

We are going to have 3 hours of weekly classes (starting at 13:20 and 14:20 on Tuesdays and 16:20 on Thursdays).

This course will introduce the "state-of-the-art" in nanotechnology The material taught requires an interdisciplinary approach by combining basic ideas from materials science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and physics. Particularly, issues related to novel nanostructured materials and their applications in technologies will be addressed. Structure control at the nanoscale and effects of structure on properties will be discussed. Characterization methods in nanotechnology (AFM, SEM, TEM, and nanoindentation) will be covered. This course will also provide an introductory overview of MEMS.

The laboratory sections will be held in NANOTAL labs. In these sections, thin film coating techniques, electrical and optical characterization tehcniques, optical and AFM microscopy will be discussed.
